David Gere's Bio

David Gere was born on February 15, 1975, in a rural Connecticut town.
David began drawing and writing as a child, and has been cultivating his vision ever since.
An outstanding student, David graduated from Providence College in Rhode Island, receiving a BA in Political Science
and a Minor in Film Studies. While in R.I. he began working both sides of the camera on several features and commercials.
He also developed a relationship with famed director Peter Farrelly, and worked production on Outside Providence (1999),
a film which Peter and his brother Bobby Farrelly produced. David's short film The Cross (1997), generated awards at
many regional film festivals and gained a great deal of critical praise. He recently worked on the Steven
Spielberg/Tom Cruise epic, The War of the Worlds (2005), and the 6th Rocky film, Rocky Balboa (2006).
Currently, David is living in Connecticut, continuing his career as an abstract painter, screenwriter,
and director. He often credits his desire to create to a difficult loss he experienced as a child.
